It was a dream come true to be awarded the 2014 Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship. The competitive program helps Indiana licensed teachers to accomplish a creative project in support of personal renewal and intellectual revitalization. My project titled, “Une Visite au Grenier de la France: A visit to France’s Attic” involves a trip to study the lesser-known regions of the Périgord and Aquitaine, nicknamed by the French as “the Attic of France” due to its rich historic, cultural, and natural heritage, the “perched” hill-top villages of the Lubéron that inspired Van Gogh and Cézanne, and the Camargue, a wetland area that is home to thousands of Pink flamingos and the famous white horses.
I will be traveling by plane, train and car!
